This collection contains three narratives written by Rear Admiral Edwin Layton concerning Japanese commerce raiders and fleet actions during the Pacific Campaign. It is arranged in four folders. The first folder, titled "Flea Bites Dog," contains a translation of the Japanese official history of their naval operations, mainly the effect of the U.S. carrier strikes. The second folder, "2nd K Operation", contains the combined fleet plans to collect intelligence on U.S. forces before the battle of Midway. The third folder covers the war on merchant shipping, "24 Sentai: Japan's Commerce Raiders". The fourth folder contains source materials used for Layton's book, I Was There.
